Description
Nausea and vomiting are common problems for patients in Emergency Departments (EDs). Our objective is to determine if Ondansetron 16mg and 8mg and Droperidol 1.25mg are superior antiemetics compared to placebo in adult Emergency Department (ED) patients with nausea and/or vomiting.
A pilot of multicenter prospective, double blinded, randomised, placebo controlled trial of antiemetic agents in adult patients with Emergency Department nausea and vomiting (EDNV). It will be performed over a four-month period, recruiting n=60 adult patients in two Australasian Emergency Departments. A clinical and statistical significant decrease in EDNV will be sought and the pilot will test feasibility.
