Structural studies on the UBF/rDNA complexes that drive rDNA class switching

Description
In this project, in collaboration with Professor Ross Hannan (ANU), we will study the structure of Upstream Binding Factor (UBF) in complex with ribosomal RNA genes (rDNA). The work will utilize Correlative Light and Electron Microscopy (CLEM) and Electron Tomography (ET) experiments. Understanding the structure of UBF/rDNA will be central for developing strategies to disrupt ribosome biogenesis in the context of a wide range of human cancers.
